St. Patrick's Day Parade

From Monument Circle

Please note: The parade is oversold and is not accepting any more applications. The committee will soon determine the lineup and post it on the website. Unfortunately, because we are oversold, some applicants will not be in the parade. Preference will be given to all applicants who submitted applications in full (including application, check, waivers and recognition of rules and regs) and by the deadline of February 17th. In addition, the committee will give some amount of preference to units that have been in the parade a number of years. We thank everyone for helping to make this parade the best it can be.

The 32nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade is Friday, March 16th, 2012 in downtown Indianapolis starting at 11:30am. The Parade has over 80 units made up of high school bands, floats, catholic schools, Irish dancers, bag pipe & drum bands, Irish organizations, law enforcement, local media and celebrities. The Parade is FREE to the public. The Parade also hosts a tent party (10:00am – 3:00pm) on Vermont Street which is located in the middle of the Parade route and it is also FREE and open to the public. Come out rain or shine and enjoy one of Indy’s most popular events.

As is tradition the morning of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the Hoosier Lottery Greening of the Canal will take place 6:00am downtown on Ohio Street just east of West Street. There will be live Irish entertainment and prizes plus, free coffee, hot chocolate and donuts. The event is FREE and open to the public.
