Organized in 1984, the Indy Sports Foundation was created to promote national and international amateur sports, and to give assistance and support to persons and organizations engaged in such activities.

Originally housed and operated from Indianapolis Athletic Club, the Foundation is a donor-supported charitable entity that has underwritten such worthwhile causes as summer camps for kids with disabilities, Special Olympic Camps, boys and girls from disadvantaged homes, Big Brother, and other amateur athletic events like the Indiana High School Girls Volleyball State Finals Banquet.
